- Everyday 5 million girls cannot attend school (because they spend their days carrying water for their families)
- Everyday 200 million women carry water (a load of 50 pounds carried 3 – 4 miles twice daily is not uncommon)
- Everyday 7000 children die (because they don’t have access to clean water and sanitation).
